Last Sunday was the official cocktail party celebration for baby Bobo! We celebrated Dipti and Sachin becoming first time parents with our closest and dearest friends and family. The couple wanted a small, casual brunch style party with lots of food and drinks since they are not really the “big party” types. As you all know, “small” for an Indian party is 250 people and that’s exactly how many people attended this shower! So much for the intimate setting! However, it ended up being exactly what Dipti and Sachin wanted as we all got to spend time with the people we love and care about deeply. The love and blessings our guests showered on Bobo was extremely moving and we all couldn’t have asked for more in celebrating Bobo’s arrival.
We shared our looks with you from the Indian ceremony we had for Bobo. Here is a glimpse at our “winter chic” looks for the cocktail party.
Dipti wanted an elegant but simple look in emerald green, which she pulled off with this BCBG dress (that she picked up at the BCBG Outlet). The dress was a little too simple on its own, so she designed this custom cape which we had made by our designer in India. The added belt (similar here) showed off that belly Bobo is growing in and gave an otherwise baggy dress some curves. She was glowing from top to bottom and these pictures are proof!
Nina wanted to do something a little more fun! Since she is the simple and casual one of the three of us, she obviously did not pick her own dress. Dipti saw this Sue Wong dress and was obsessed with it. Nina had little say in if she liked it or not and was asked sternly by her pregnant sister to wear it, otherwise… The dress was a hit! Everyone was loving the fun, jazzy feather look and Nina couldn’t help but give into the dress begging to hit the dance floor!
Sheena wanted something sleek and chic. She was all set to go with this gorgeous little number and the day before the party Mommy Vaid vetoed it with a “it is way too short!” As gutted as she was about not being able to wear the dress that she had planned on wearing forever, she knew she had to run it pass the mother before she heard it at the party (yes, we still get yelled at by Mommy Vaid!). She had this BCBG dress that she bought a year ago for another event and threw it on for Mom’s approval. In the end it was the right look for the shower and it turned out looking fab (and let’s not forget that this was the perfect dress for that gorgeous set she has been obsessing over for weeks)!
You can find all of our jewelry at Nina Jewelers in Iselin, NJ on Oak Tree Rd.
P.S. Thanks Sahil for taking these fab pics for us! And thanks Marissa for the amazing makeup!
